January Favourites 2017

I'm back everyone! It has been so long since I last had a blog post up, but it's good to be back. I've kept up with you mostly on Instagram over the last few months. it's one platform I never get bored of using. I thought the best post to do for my first post back, and the first post of 2017, would be some favourites.

I've had the majority of these products a while now, the newest item I have is the Clinique Crayola Chubby stick and my first time to try one of the chubby sticks. All of these I'm reaching for the most and are working for me and what I need. I will admit I have worn little to no makeup the last few months, but when I do the following are what I know I will reach for time after time.

I'm a huge fan of the First Aid Beauty range since I tried out some of their products earlier last year. New to me this year (thanks to hubby) is the Facial Radiance Pads (€13.95 - €28.95) and Ultra Repair Hydra-Firm Sleeping Cream (€35.95). Of late my cheeks have developed some texture so the radiance pads are doing great tackling the problem. They are gentle to my sensitive skin and no breakouts have occurred. The pads contain Glycolic and lactic acid which helped my pores and the clarity of my skin. The sleeping cream is really comfortable to wear at night and not tacky. My skin takes on a whole new level of glow when I wake up in the morning and it even feels more toned. I've also noticed since using this that it has done a great job of moisturising my worst dry spot between my eyebrows, which makes my foundation look soooo much better!

Okay, okay I'll admit it, I was very sceptical about trying the Moxi Loves Removal Eye Catcher (€5) What could make these better than me using a cotton bud with some cleanser? Well, one I can't carry around a cleanser and a host of buds. Two, these babies have a tough action cleanser inside and you snap to release the cleanser. These are great at cleaning up my wonky eyeliner and fallout from shadows, and any mascara that goes astray. I'm enjoying these and as someone who hates using eyeliner, this is actually making trying out new ones more fun and enjoyable because I can have cleaned up in a jiffy when I go wrong. They are individually wrapped so always have some in my bag for on the go.

Overall I haven't tried much from the Balm, but this palette has changed that for me. This contains only the best from the Balm's products and rolled it into one travel-friendly palette. Meet In theBalm of Your Hand (€39.95)

You have a mix of blushers, eyeshadows, one bronzer, and two lip products. Some of which double up like some of the blushers can be used for eyeshadows. Plus one of the lip products can be used as a cream blush. If you would like a full review on this palette, please let me know in the comments.

So if you haven't heard Clinique joined up with Crayola to make an 8 piece collection of Chubby Sticks (€20.00) for lips. The Chubby Sticks have been a cult favourite in the blogging world, but this was my first time to ever try one (shocking I know). They are a handy go-to moisturising balm with a hint lip colour, some of more than a wash of colour and are more intense. I picked up Mauvelous which I'm loving and really really want to pick up more of these. Also, who can resist a bit of childhood nostalgia when it comes in the form of makeup.

I picked up my first Makeup Geek eyeshadow (€7.20) last year and can see myself growing a collection of these.  They come in a beautiful array of colours to choose from, wear really well, and are affordable. I have a separate post about these shadows coming soon, where I will talk more about the colours I have. I do love that these come magnetised and you can pop them straight into a Z palette. I currently have six shades one of which is a duo chrome. Have you tried the Makeup Geek eyeshadows yet? Let me know your favourite shade in the comments.

I have a swatch of the shades for you and the picture was taken in natural light, some look similar but work very differently once on.

Lastly, the *IsaDora Matt Fixing Powder extends the wear of your makeup, it helps keep a shiny forehead from looking like a beacon of light (I'm talking about my own because my forehead is so high). My favourite thing about the fixing powder is that it doesn't leave my skin looking flat, but leaves it radiant and imperfections blurred.

I hope you enjoyed my January favourites, and it's good to be back sharing my beauty finds with you again.
