I'm back, kind of. Since Lillibug finished montessori finding time for blogging has been non existent, but I've been loving the break. I thought I'd come back to tell you about the Z Palette. A hot pink customisable palette to house all my loose eyeshadows.
Available through BeautyBay for €8.80 the cardboard palette fits 9 single eyeshadows. I didn't have many loose shadows until I delved into MakeupGeek (I'm obsessed now). So the Z Palette comes with magnetic stickers and instructions on how to de-pot from other palettes etc. Yes, I gave it a go and took out the hair straighteners and depotted my MAC shadows, and amazingly it worked for me and I didn't burn myself or melt everything to nothing! I did have two MAC refills that already had their magnets on them and it was very noticeable that the magnets on them were basically crap. The magnets on the MAC shadows are not strong enough for the Z Palette and they slid around, however the Makeup Geek shadows were perfect with a strong magnet as well as the magnets that came with the Z palette.
The one concern I had with the Z Palette was the strength of the plastic window on the front, and I'm happy that it is very strong, I know because Lillibug decided to use it as a frisbee (pure accident) and it survived the hit off the wall.
I really love the versatility of the palette and making my own palettes with the colours I choose. It's small, eco-friendly, versatile and sturdy. The palettes come in many different styles and sizes, I have my eye on one of the larger palettes now and de-pot more of my shadows to help with storage.
I always had the MAC Pro Palette on my wishlist especially with it's hard plastic housing which would be super durable, but I love the fun of these designs and now with the knowledge that the magnets are better on the Z Palette.
Would you consider a Z Palette? Let me know in the comments what it is that attracts you to one.
