Frozen Inspired Nails for Winter with Lillibug

I'm back again with more nail inspiration thanks to Lillibug! Winter is definitely well and truly here in Ireland and my nails needed to join in with the weather. I decided not to go with berries or reds and  instead took inspiration from "Frozen".

Using Barry M Speedy Quick Dry in the shade Eat My Dust (5.99) it gave us that "Frozen" feeling and it looked fab. It did take 2 coats to get this to the opacity that was needed and could nearly have went for a third but I didn't have the patience to wait for it to dry. It claims to be quick dry but I really don't feel that is. The colour is bluish/grey and sometimes it looks like I have a white base underneath but I don't it, it just has a milky look to it (if that makes any sense to you, you deserve a star).

To add a bit of magic and glitter we went with Nails Inc Alexa Holographic (from a Nails Inc. set) and added on top of the Barry M to give an extra pop! It's a very fine silver glitter which I just love and it doesn't catch in my clothes.

I finished off by using my Nails Inc Caviar topcoat and, from experience, using the combination of these it should last around 5-6 days.

So do you think we pulled off our "Frozen" inspired nail look? We had a fun little girlie hour doing our nails, and I'm pretty impressed that Lillibug painted some of mine. We may have a little nail artist on our hands!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil "Blackmail"

I'm Back!!! I took a little break the last few weeks to recharge the blogging batteries, and I have returned with the fabulous Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil (€18.50) in the shade "Blackmail". With 5 new shades to join the lineup I was delighted to be sent this to try out.

I have to admit first off I'm not used to lip pencils. I own the grand total of three and dodn't get on super with them due to how dry they are. This, however, I jumped into trying to see how different it could be and if I could easily use it. The colour also was totally out of my comfort zone but I embraced it.

Blackmail is described as a deep berry wine and has a matte finish. I found applying it creamy and it stayed put ALL day which was super impressive. I did pair the lipliner with my Bourjois Colour Lip Boost in Russian Plus to soften the look and it worked a treat and then I feathered the lip liner in a bit.

I found wearing the lip pencil as an all over colour a tad bit drying on my lips and a bit patchy but I have tried another URBAN DECAY GLIDE-ON LIP PENCIL in a different shade and didn't have the same problem, so I think it's just because of how matte it was and the deepness of the colour. A light hand is how I use this pencil. That's not to say that this is not a great product, I am super impressed by the packaging because the barrel is the shade colour so easy to find. The longevity is excellent, and there is a lip pencil shade to match any of the Revolution Lipsticks! I would definitely pick up more along the way as I loved the defined look and how it lasted through lunch and dinner.

The lip pencils are made with vitamin E, jojoba oil, and cottonseed oil, to bring a moisturising lip product that glides on and keep lips nourished.

Available now from Debenhams, House of Fraser (Dundrum Town Centre).

#NOTD Essie Nothing Else Metals

Oh my word, imagine I haven't done a Nails of the Day post since February. That really is shocking! I did give my nails a really long break from polish because they had gotten really weak, but they are back to all their strength now and I've picked up some new polishes. I want to start off with Essie Nothing Else Metals because it really is beautiful.

This is from the Essie Mirror Metallics Range and I was originally looking to get Penny Talk as I'm trying to find the perfect Rose Gold polish but anyway I couldn't get it, but I got this beauty instead and I'm really delighted with the results.

The formula is super fast to dry which is always a plus when it comes to a polish. It did however show up ridges or dents in the nails, and I'm putting it down to the formula not being creamy. To avoid brush strokes showing up try not to go over the same place again and again. The brush is good and fans out so I found that I didn't need to go over strokes. The picture above shows one coat and it's pigmented! I'm loving the lavender shade that pulls through the chrome metallic finish.

I managed to pick mine up in TK Maxx for €5.99 which was a bargain. Without a topcoat the polish lasted 3 days and then started to wear away rather than chip. With a topcoat I got 5 days which is amazing for me. Picture below show two coats of Nothing Else Metals plus a topcoat.

I just love this shade. What do you think?

All Essie nail polishes are DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde free.
