Getting Snap Happy on Snapchat with these 5 Tips!

Over the last few weeks Snapchat has really taken off among the blogging community, and we now have a new platform to get to know one another and keep up to date with each others blogs.

Thanks to Kathleen of Squidgy Moments and Nicole of Beauty Lifestyle Ramblings with Nicholle I was introduced to Snapchat over a year ago and I have been obsessed sinceSnap a photo or a video, add a caption, and send it to a friend it then will disappear straight away if it was sent directly or will stay on your Story for 24hrs.

So I've compiled some of my favourite tips for anyone new to it!

1. Video Conversations:

This is without a doubt the funniest and best way to have a quick live conversation with one another. When writing to each other and you are on at the same time the yellow icon turns blue and makes a notification beep. When that happens press and hold and you can see each other and have a chat (bare in mind you both need to be on at the same time for it to work). I've only used this once with Sara from Where is my mind? and my ribs still hurt from the laughter, it could become very addictive.

2. Making Things Bigger!

I never paid much attention to the T icon at the top, but now I do. Insert your emoji press the T and it will make it bigger.

Make your words stand out too using the same method.

3. Changing Colour.

You can also have fun with colours when writing annotations on your snaps. First write up what you want to say then press T then the label icon you should now be able to click the colour you would like. The colour changing of words only seems to work if going bigger with them.

4. Lazy tip for your camera.

Instead of using the camera icon to turn your camera, double tap a voila it turns for you!

5. Be yourself:

I hope you find these tips useful and easy to follow. Have fun over on snapchat, see you there later!

MeMeMe Arch Angel

Hi everyone, I'm back! Today I'm talking about the MeMeMe Arch Angel (€10.50) which sounds like the guardian angel of all brow products already, with it's double ended wand containing your brow gel and the opposite end hosting a highlighter.

I'm used to my Benefit Gimme Brows now at this stage but at over €20 it's expensive to keep repurchasing and I have been looking for a cheaper alternative. This was kindly sent to me to try out and I have been favouring the Arch Angel the last few weeks. The brush is twice the size of the Gimme Brows so I think if your brows are thinner than mine you will need to work at being more precise but otherwise the feel and outcome is exactly the same as the Gimme Brows.

What makes this unique is the fact that it also provides at the opposite end a highlighter with a doe foot applicator. The highlighter is on the glittery side so I prefer it in the corner of my eye or even on the top of my cheekbones but not under the brow bone. This is just personal preference but there's no denying that it provides great fresh appearance.

The colour of the brow gel which I have is dark brown and it was just a hint too dark for me but I've seen the light brown (head to Where is my mind? for her review on the light brown) and I think that would suit me better. The wear time is brilliant with my brows still in place by the end of the day and I will be purchasing in the lighter colour once I get my hands on it.

Can you see the difference in the eyebrows above? Which do you prefer (just ignore that I need to pluck my brows lol)?

No7 Shimmer Palette Rose

The minute I laid eyes on this little beauty I knew I just had to get it. At €17.50 the No7 Shimmer Palette in Rose was a little up there in price terms for what I go for in the pharmacy when I pop in, but between the packaging and a handy Boots No7 offer I was in like a shot.

With four colours combined in the palette as strips swirled together, this gives a beautiful defined look to the cheeks once applied. As you can see from the swatch above there is glitter to be found within but it doesn't come across like a disco ball on your face. I will however say that this gives off a metallic sheen so if you have big pores or any blemishes on your cheeks this will highlight them even more.

I've been also using all the shades in the palette on my eyes too and really loving the look I'm achieving. I found a winner with this palette and can see myself using it all year around. The packaging is fabulous too with it's rose gold finish and a handy mirror inside. The powder is soft and buttery with very little fallout and applies evenly.

I'm interested now in exploring the No7 some more so what would you recommend, or are you interested in finding out more about the brand?! Let me know in the comments below.

Boots have a buy 1 get 2nd half price on selected No7 products right now!

What are Adult Colouring Books & Do They Help?!

The day of thinking a colouring book is just for kids is well and truly over. After seeing pictures on social media for months of these Adult Colouring books, I decided to ditch the typical colouring in with Lillibug and go get myself an "Adult Colouring Book". Art is known for it's therapeutic properties and these books are aimed at trying to meditate with our creativeness.

I chose to get the crayola colouring pencils because I like the softness that pencils bring to art, but I've seen some fabulous pictures done by other with markers, paints, sketch pencils, the list goes on.

As someone who suffers from insomnia and I also find it hard to relax and unwind, I thought this might be something that was worth trying. I surprisingly have gotten on so well with it. I take some time out a couple of night a week, this could be like twenty minutes or an odd hour if I can catch it. It makes me go into my own little world, and I also noticed I'm sleeping better on the nights that I do it. I switch off from everything, that includes the telly, the computer, the phone and that can really make all the difference. I also have fibromyalgia and even though my hands can hurt during it, especially if I do it for too long, the tranquility I get from colouring outweighs the pain in my hand.

I've never been the most artistic, I even chose Music over Art in school, but it's not about if you are artistic, it's about going into your own world and taking time out for yourself.

It's also been fun in the afternoons when myself and Lillibug get the pencils in the middle of the table and have colouring book each, she is watching me and has started to try and draw inside the lines so intently now!

Would this be something you have or would try out? Let me know.

Netflix: Pass It On!

One of the great things about Netflix is that there's a massive library of kids shows and movies that is readily available without having to pay a cable companies (sometimes ludicrous) subscription fees. As well as that, it's not just newer shows that are available, but some of the classic stuff we used to watch as kids. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the kids shows of today but maybe I'm a bit old fashioned. What I am happy with is that Lillibug is just as entertained by my favourite kids shows as I was.

This classic 80's cartoon that featured the voice talent of David Jason ("Only Fools and Horses") followed the adventures of an eyepatch wearing white mouse, who also happened to be a secret agent. His sidekick, Penfold (a mild mannered, nervous hamster) accompanied him on his many adventures, most of which were under the orders of his boss, Colonel K (a chinchilla, of course). It's a quick witted show with plenty of action and irreverent humour. Coincidentally, a new updated version of the show will be airing on Netflix early next year!

Released in 1985, "The Care Bears Movie" was a video that I practically wore out as a kid, and it still holds up pretty well to this day on Netflix. Lillibug loves acting out scenes with her own teddies and dancing along to all the songs, and I still get some nice flashbacks to my own childhood when it is on.

I was a little older when Rugrats was at it's best, but I still enjoyed it an awful lot. There are plenty of laughs for Lillibug, and an equal amount for me still. This was a very well written show that had jokes for adults but at the same time they were never inappropriate, which isn't the same for all kids shows. For a programme that started in 1991, for it still to be fresh and enjoyable is a great achievement.

What shows from your youth do you show your little ones? How do you feel they compare to today's popular programmes? Let me know in the comments!

*Disclaimer: I'm a member of the Netflix Stream Team and for this I received a complimentary subscription for one year & an Apple TV (Box). All opinions are my own, and I will be posting once a month in relation to Netflix Stream Team. Stay tuned........

Bioderma Sensibio Range

So June has come and gone, but the most exciting thing to happen in the land of beauty last month for me was the launch of the French Skincare Brand Bioderma. Bioderma began in 1977 by Jean-Noël Thorel, a pioneering pharmacist who had a fresh approach to dermocosmetics. The products are formulated to maintain not just your beauty but the health of your skin. There has been a lot of hype around Bioderma especially their Sensibio H20 Micellar solution, so when I was sent these products to try out I was very excited to see if they really are worth the hype.

So I'll start with the Bioderma Sensbío H20 Cleanser (€5.50 100ml) the one I heard the most about and the one I was most intrigued about. I was a big fan of the cheaper micellar waters on the market, and even these are a great cheaper alternative to Bioderma, but for me there is no comparison. The Bioderma really feels like it's part of your skincare routine, but I would always recommend not to cut out your toner, serum or moisturiser even if the Bioderma Micellar Solution feels like you could skip it. It is without a doubt the most effortless way of taking off your makeup or as first cleanse. This is great for taking off my eye makeup too without much effort and great for my sensitive eyes. My skin is left fresh, soft and clean. It doesn't feel tight or zapped of moisture from using it. I loved this so much I went out and bought the 250ml (€11.50) bottle and I have a feeling I might end up buying the 500ml (€16.00) on next payday.
This is fragrance free, paraben free, alcohol free and hypoallergenic!

One bottle of Sensibio H2O sold around the world every 5 seconds!

I love BB creams as they are quick, handy and light on the skin. The Bioderma Sensibio AR BB Cream (€17.50 40ml) is no exception, as it helps perfect the skin and prevents redness. It blends easily into the skin leaving a flawless finish but also leaves a healthy radiance to the skin which I love. It contains light reflective particles of powder and pigments to help conceal the redness and has SPF 30. It leaves a natural matte finish. If I have one gripe with this product, it is in the shade "light" but even on my porcelain skin this is still very dark even if I do blend down my neck, it just doesn't look right. If they ever come out with a shade lighter I'll be first at the counter!

As you can see from the swatches the shade is very dark and I hope you can see in the below photo when blended that it's still very dark for a light shade.

The packaging is fresh and clean and easy to find with it's colour coded ranges which include the following:

These products are on the more expensive side but if you like to spend money on your skincare these are just fab products and products I'm definitely loving and I certainly think they are worth the hype. You can buy these online with Sam McCauley right NOW!
