My Top 6 Benefit Products

Okay I know I have an obsession when it comes to Benefit, my whole love affair with makeup began with Benefit so of course they will always have a soft spot for me. I was playing around on polyvore the other night and came up with my top 6 Benefit Products so lightbulb went off and thought this needs to be a blogpost! Narrowing this down to 6 was difficult but I got there in the end.

1. Gimme Brow, is my favourite ever brow product, that even got it's own review not long ago on the blog. It's quick, precise and stays put all day.

2. Fine One One, perfect trio of cream colours for your cheeks. This is perfect for us pale skin girls. The review I did of this was one of my very first ones (awwwww). This is one of those quick to apply throw in your handbag and off you go products.

3. Hoola took me awhile to fall in love with, but once I got used to it, I loved it! It's a matte yellow/brown and is so easy to apply, even for me as I'm useless with bronzers.

4. Hello Flawless Powder Foundation is a great travel friendly product to have. It comes with a sponge and a brush for any touch up you need to do throughout the day. You can build up the coverage of this too which is great. It also doesn't stick to my dry patches which is always a bonus.

5.  They're Real Mascara, no other mascara has topped this just yet, the new offering of the Roller Lash nearly did but only because it was easier to take off. I love the volume and "wow" impact this mascara gives, and it is super black.

6. Finally my favourite ever eye cream is It's Potent! This cream is wonderful for brightening up the under eye area but also really helps my dark circles. Pop this in the fridge for extra coolness and to really feel the hydration going back into your under eye area.

So those are my top 6 products, have you tried any of them yet?!

Nivea In Shower Moisturiser

Nivea are back again and this time with their brand new In-shower Body Moisturiser Firming rrp €7.49. We all know that I'm a sucker for anything that makes my morning's go a bit quicker and this definitely is a product that falls right into that category.

This is the most recent addition to the Q10 range, and I'm really enjoying it. My skin feels super smooth and moisturised when I get out of the shower, that there really is no need to use anything else after. This does make the shower tray a little slippy so watch out for that! The little yellow Q10 beads dissolve instantly on your skin and the water works it's magic to lather it up also this is how the formula is activated.

My skin doesn't feel like it has a residue left on it, and the dead skin cells are removed to leave me with silky smooth skin. So if you don't have enough time to moisturise separately after a shower then this is the product that might just help keep your skin in tip top condition.

On the firming claim, I can't vouch for that, I still have cellulite and always will, but my skin does look and feel great with the In-Shower moisturiser.

What else is in the range:
·         NIVEA Q10 Firming Body Lotion, 250 ml RRP €7.38 and 400 ml RRP €10.16
·         NIVEA Q10 Firming Body Oil, 200 ml RRP €9.99
·         NIVEA Q10 Firming Body Rich Lotion for Dry Skin, 250 ml RRP €7.38
·         NIVEA Body Goodbye Cellulite, 200ml RRP €10.16

Closer Look at the Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine

You may have noticed over the last few weeks that I have been posting photos of these polishes and the nail art that I've been trying to do. I really do love these polishes and the colours that have been added to the line up are bang on for spring/summer.

The polishes are for the most part quick drying, with a great shine. They are also great for lasting against the normal wear and tear that I can get with most polishes. The Rimmel London 60 seconds super shine are really affordable at €4.49 (Boots).

Go Wild-er-ness is a gorgeous lilac which can look patchy with just one coat, but with two coats you are on to a winner.

Daisy Days is a beautiful sunshine yellow. It has a different consistency to the others and went on gloopy. This also needed 2 coats and out of all the colours this took the longest to dry.

This stunning Port-a-loo-blue, is one of my favourites that I can see wearing for most of the summer. Make sure to wear a good base coat as this really stains your nails! This went on beautifully with just one coat.

Pinks don't usually suit my skin tone, but I think with Sweet Retreat I have found the perfect one. I didn't think I would go for a strong looking pink but it's a fun one for summer. I definitely got away with only one coat.

The Coralicious is another favourite of mine not just for my finger nails, but love it on my toes too. One coat looked great, but was left with a hint of staining, so you must remember to use a base coat. This one was also fast drying.

So overall, I'm a huge fan and I'm sure I will pick up another one or two over the next couple of weeks.

What would your go to summer nail polish be? Let me know x

My Little Dream Box - "My Little Box" April

It's that time of the month again and My Little Box made it's way to me full of dreams and fluffy clouds!

I really love the illustrations on the box, they are super cute and chic. April's box was full of amazing goodies for me to delve into. I really was so excited when this came in and I wasn't disappointed in my second My Little Box.

It was hard to know what to look at first when I opened the box (may I add that I opened up in the car because I couldn't wait to get home to open it).

I was greeted with a quote from Walt Disney, never a truer word was said, so I have it stuck up on my wall where I can see it everyday now.

In the lovely canvas bag I got a foaming cleanser, a hair mask from My Little Beauty (their own range) and a lip and cheek tint by Lou Lesage. The balm is gorgeous and the tint gives the look of those just bitten lips.

The cloud above that says Once upon a dream held a cute little coin necklace designed by Delphine Pariente. The necklace says "bonne éotile" which means Lucky Star in French.

I also loved this adorable rotating stamper and ink, and I will be stamping anything I can just to use this!

Also a lovely little booklet came with nail inspiration, hair tutorial and when you open it up fully there was one big poster!

This months box came to €21.21 with the exchange rate plus I had to pay the extra for parcel motel as My Little Box doesn't deliver to Ireland yet. For me I can't resist this I love the whimsical feel and the fact that it's not just beauty. Luckily this was a present for 3 months but I don't what I will do once my last box comes in next month.

WaterWipes Sensitive Make-up Removal

I've been asked on numerous occasions to recommend wipes and if you are a long time reader you know that I don't use them and I never recommend them. Until now. What makes these different? They contain only 3 ingredients and doesn't rip my skin to shreds, to put it bluntly.

You may be wondering what even make me want to try these out. They were sent to me to try out and  I had injured my back so I couldn't keep up my usual skincare routine, but I needed something to make my skin feel somewhat clean and refreshed. I had also tried another brand that I got in a Christmas set while I was laid up, but they ended up in the bin, so these obviously impressed me a lot.

I was pretty shocked to see that the WaterWipes only contained 3 ingredients:
Purified Water at 99.9%,
Citrus Grandis seed extract (grapefruit),
Dead Sea Minerals for deep skin moisturiser.

I know it makes a change from seeing the usual alcohol, parabens, lanolin, perfumes and fragrances! I have dry skin and even though these didn't make my skin feel tight or irritated I still followed up with my serum and moisturiser.

I'm still shocked that I'm writing about face wipes here on the blog after 2 years of not one touching my face, but there are times I think that they can come in handy, and I will probably have these somewhere on my dressing table from now on.

These little wipes swept away makeup easily and the wipe itself didn't feel harsh, so a big thumbs up! Also you get 24 wipes for €3.49, and support Irish by doing so.

Gimme Gimme A Brow I Can Rely On

Such a small tube with a small wand but with mega impact to give you beautiful brows.

Who doesn't love a good brow, and now with so many products on the market it's hard to choose what to get. From powders to pencils, and gels to palettes for our eyebrows the whole process can become overwhelming.

I used to use a powder or pencil but only if I had time to make the effort but for the last year I've gone through 3 (yes, you heard me 3!) of Benefit's Gimme Brow. This is the quickest and handiest way for me to clean up my brows and fill in any gaps. No faffing about with separate eyebrow brushes, sharpeners or worrying about how precise I am, this little tiny wonder is my go to all time favourite eyebrow product.

The little brush is the perfect size for working through your eyebrows and depositing the fibre gel. It's longwearing and doesn't smudge. I also got caught in the rain a few times with this and it didn't even budge! You get great control building up your eyebrows with the tapered brush. My brows are very light near the ends thanks to being a blonde child, so they can sometimes look like they have disappeared. This is one of the main reasons as I like using Gimme Brows; it gives a natural look but deepens my brows and defines them.

Only catch is the price, it comes in at €24.50. It is my go to product for my brows but with rumours of a dupe I'm on the hunt for a budget friendly version that can do the above for me. The Gimme Brows does get 5 stars from me and love it.

What do you prefer to use for your eyebrows? I'd love to know.

My New Favourite TV Show: "Once Upon A Time" on Netflix.

For a long time I have been wanting to watch Once Upon A Time since it's first release, and recently it just came to Netflix! So for the last 2-3 weeks every night I watched 2-3 episodes or sometimes more. Yes, I have become obsessed with this programme. Gone are the days of sitting down with the hubby trying to find quality time in front of the telly. It's all about me now and unwinding with something that I'm enjoying. Yes I'm selfish and I don't mind taking over the telly, but it's been so long since a programme has interested me so much. Plus, hubby is very understanding and he's made me sit through some things I wasn't into over the years, so now we're even!

Netflix has seasons 1-3 currently streaming and season 4 is currently being run with each new episode coming to us shortly after is aired in the United States. I'm currently up to date on all the episodes and itching for the next.

I'm a big child. I love fairytales, I love witches & wizards, and good versus evil. This series has it all, it has a great twist on the traditional fairy tales we all know and love, and each episodes ends with you wanting more. The beginning of each episode has a clever hint as to what is going to happen within that episode as we see something coming through the shadows in the opening credits.

You will see both the world of fairy tales and our world collide as Emma Swan's past comes catching up with her. Her son Henry whom she gave up for adoption comes looking for her and brings her into the land of fairy tales and battle to get her to believe.

The story is centred around Emma, Henry, Snow White, Prince Charming, and The Evil Queen. Each character is so well developed and it's not just the main characters but also supporting characters who are familiar to us all. You will see Captain Hook (I would just like to add I'm in love with the Captain ,ahem), Pinocchio and many more. Disney have a hand in this show, and it's a good thing they do because it wouldn't work without the classic Disney characters that they give permission to use. Not all of them are as squeaky clean as they are in their cartoon form, so it's to Disney's credit that they give the makers of this show a lot of creative freedom with these iconic characters. I don't want to give away too much but all I will say is that is a must have to watch for yourself when the kids are in bed.

*Disclaimer: I am a member of the Netflix Stream Team and for this I received a complimentary subscription & an Apple TV (Box). All opinions are my own, and I will be posting once a month in relation to Netflix Stream Team. Stay tuned........

Morning Skincare Routine

I hit a bit of wall back in November with my skin and found that my usual products were just not giving me what I needed. So finally after months of trying out new products I've finally hit the jackpot. My skin is looking fresher, less dry patches and some scars from bad breakouts I was having to medication have started to diminish.

I start my morning off by cleansing with the Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser (€28), I absolutely love how this makes my fact soft and I feel like my face gets a great massage as I really take my time working the oil into my skin.

If my skin needs to be exfoliated in the morning I will use the Ziaja Olive Leaf Gel Scrub (€5.99)  which is really refreshing and gentle on my sensitive skin, and this can be used not just for your face but your body too.

The only thing that hasn't changed in my skincare routine is the Holos Floral Toner from the Love Your Skin range (€15.20). This will remain a firm favourite with me and is still the only toner to date that doesn't tear the skin off me.

For my delicate eye area, I still change up the products regularly but I've been liking The Body Shop Vitamin E Eyes cube that I got in London last month. It really handy and great for carrying the handbag if I need an extra swipe of this during the day.

This year was the year for adding a serum into the mix and I've been using the Nivea Q10plus Anti-wrinkle Serum Pearls (€14.99). This has really brightened up my dull complexion and has boosted the hydration in my skin by a mile.

I finish off my routine with Ziaja Olive Leaf Concentrated Nourishing Cream (€5.99) which has spf 20. I won't leave the house without this moisturiser on my face. It's not greasy, feels fresh, smells fresh and soaks in wonderfully to my dry skin.

So this new routine of products has being working wonders on my skin and once again I have no problem going makeup free and worrying about my how my skin looks anymore.

Stay tuned for my evening skincare routine coming up soon!

What We Got Up To Over Easter

The sun was out, the birds were singing and we hit the road for Easter Weekend to visit family. It has been awhile since we had done anything fun and out of norm so it was a welcome change for us. We started off our weekend with a visit to my parents where Lillibug decided to dress in her "Sunday Best". She felt like such a princess in her new dress and danced the afternoon away for Grandma and Granddaddy.

Lillibug was delighted with her Easter Basket this year. This is something I do every year for her so I think this will be a tradition for years to come. I filled her basket with hair clips, a Barbie DVD, bonnet, bag, Rabbit Ears, and chocolate eggs.

The weekend also had us celebrating Kevin's Birthday so there wasn't just loads of Easter Eggs there was plenty of cake to go around too. We hit the road again to visit family in Kildare, and the weather was really out to put a spring in our step. Lillibug was rearing to go, especially to visit the calves with her Uncle Brian (she is his shadow).

Myself and Kevin also got a trip to the cinema to see "Fast and Furious 7" with Lillibug's Godfather and Godmother. I actually can't remember the last time we were at the cinema so it was great to get out while Lillibug entertained her Grandma and aunties with her ballet.

We finished up our weekend with a trip to Dublin Zoo with Sara from Where is my Mind? and her two gorgeous girls. The zoo was packed and it was extremely hot, but the day was brilliant. This was my first time to meet Sara and we had a blast getting to know one another in person. Of course Lillibug was in her element having two new friends who she could interact with. I'm not sure who was more excited about the whole day, myself and Sara or the kids! We had such a wonderful day and are missing the girlies already. We already have our next day trip together on the cards.

We finished up yesterday searching for fairies but instead we came across their friends the Ladybug.

So that was our weekend in a nutshell, it was fantastic and was like a mini break away for us. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Easter Nails with Rimmel London 60 Seconds Super Shine By Rita Ora

I spotted some fabulous new spring shades from Rimmel London and knew straight away that these would have to be incorporated into some Easter themed nails!

First off I love the colours, I love the finish, and I was super surprised with the lasting power of these polishes without a topcoat. The shades went on beautifully especially the lovely shade that is "Port-A-Loo-Blue" which only needed one coat . You will need a base coat with "Port-A-Loo-Blue" as this stained my nails really badly, but my trusty Emoji Micro Nail fixed that up in a jiffy.

I used some new dotting tools that I got in Dealz for only €1.49. This is really my first time to experiment with designs and I was really chuffed with how they turned out. Hopefully with time I will get better!

"Port-A-Loo-Blue" is a wonderful blue colour and I can't think of a similar blue in my collection so I'm thrilled with this one, and it's also great for transitioning into Springtime.

"Sweet Retreat" is a vibrant pink which applied evenly with one coat. I prefer this colour incorporated into nail art as I find as a block it doesn't really appeal to me.

"Daisy Days" I picked up just because I don't have another yellow in my collection and I'm in love with it! This need two coats.

Compared to my other Rimmel polishes I found the drying time to be quick.

These are available now for €4.49 in Boots.

What colours are you going to be wearing on your nails for Spring?!
