Disappointing Products #1

I thought it was about time I talked about some products that just did not work for me! As much as I like to find the positive in everything, there are just some things that didn't suit me.

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer €13

I decided to start with this as I've recently reviewed it. As much as I wanted this to work for me it just did not perform the way I wanted it to. Yes it has great coverage but it didn't sit well on my skin.

Invisi Bobble (3 pack) €5

As the name suggests it is a bobble that is invisible..... For me it is not invisible and I find it to be really uncomfortable at times. I was recommended these for actually sleeping in, but no way would I leave these in over night, it just wouldn't be comfortable. Also these aren't meant to snag the hair or leave kinks, but to me they did both. My hair is quite fine and these bobbles certainly don't do anything for me.

Rimmel Stay Matte €7.79

I looked so ill wearing this foundation! It leaves a mask like effect on me and clings to every dry patch even if well moisturised and primed. I can feel this on my skin, it's really obvious that I'm wearing it. I think this would work better on someone with really oily skin (possibly).

P.S Love This Brush Cleanser €2.50

Yes there is alcohol in it and yes I can be lazy when it comes to washing my brushes, so this seemed like a bargain! Unfortunately the smell really annoyed me the more I used it that now I never want to smell it again. I really shouldn't complain at €2.50 but I was so disappointed that my brushes didn't really look very clean after using it. It did work great on small brushes like my eye brushes and they dried quickly after using it, but it would have been great if worked on my big face brushes too.

So all of the above are products that have recently disappointed me. My favourites for January are coming soon so I hope that will cheer us all up. xx

  1. I find posts like this really helpful, pity the brush cleaner didn't work out as it's such a good price!

    1. So glad you find it helpful, it's the first one I've ever done and hope to bring more of these type of posts during the year. I was really disappointed with the brush cleaner but I really shouldn't be when it was €2.50 so at least it didn't break the bank lol x

    1. I had high hopes for the bobbles especially as I heard so many good things about them, but it snagged on my hair and left kinks :-( x

  4. Had the exact same experience with that Rimmel foundation, which is insane because their others are fantastic! Feck it, I placed a boots order recently and threw the invisibobble in too, looking at them now they're going to snag aren't they? AGH! Haven't and won't be trying that brush cleaner x

  5. I have to vouch for the Rimmel stay matte, I have combination skin and dermatitis and it's the only one I have found that doesn't irritate my skin, feels light on and has good coverages. Really shows that different products work for different people lol great post :)

  6. That's so funny I love those Invisibobbles! I like hearing what doesn't work for people though as were more likely to write about things we love I suppose

    1. Sometime the words flow so much easier when I have good things to say, but the products above really got on my nerves lol It's amazing how one thing can work for someone and then the complete opposite reaction from someone else x
