Netflix Stream Team: Going Book Crazy with Netflix

March Challenge:

March the 6th saw the arrival of World Book Day. If there's one thing that Lillibug loves, it's her books! It's gotten to the stage where instead of reading her a bedtime story, she reads to us instead.

Of her many, many books one of her favourites is her copy of "Tinkerbell: Look and Find" (above). This book keeps her attention more than any other. While she may be too young to find hidden objects, it's great for getting her to point out different body parts, different colours, and different items of clothing. Sometimes she gets to have a read of it before bed but we also give it to her some afternoons and if she's especially good, as a treat, we put on the "Tinkerbell" film (available to stream on Netflix).

For an extra special treat, and because she's such a big fan of "Tinkie" (in her words), we often put on her fairy wings, which we got with a copy of the "Tinkerbell" magazine, and a couple of small fluffy bobbles that we took off an old item of clothing and stick it on her shoes, just like Tinkie. Okay so we know that TinkerBell has green shoes but hey, Lillibug doesn't notice so we are getting away with pink slippers for the moment.

What is your child's favourite book and do you like to act it out together? Let me know in the comment section below.

*Disclaimer: I have become a member of the Netflix Stream Team and for this I received a complimentary subscription for one year & an Apple TV (Box). All opinions are my own, and I will be posting once a month in relation to Netflix Stream Team. Stay tuned........

Afternoon Tea at Whites of Wexford

Our little Lillibug saved up her money before Christmas and as a pressie to Daddy and I she got us a voucher for Afternoon Tea at Whites of Wexford. Whites of Wexford is my little haunt I suppose you could say and love bringing Lillibug in for our odd cup of tea and scone. It's usually just the two of us and there's loads of room for the buggy and staff are so good with families, so it was the perfect pressie for us.

You get the most wonderful selection of sandwiches, homemade pastries, scones and preserves and all beautifully laid out on three tiers. You also get the option of herbal tea, breakfast tea or coffee to go with it! I also want to mention that I have allergies and when I explained about this they were happy to alter the sandwiches for me without hesitation. The table is also laid out with a beautiful white linen cloth just to add to the presentation.

Lillibug was given crayons and colouring pages to keep her occupied while we tried to make our way through the tiers, for which I will be forever grateful. In fairness  she did have her share of sandwiches and a nice scone as her treat.

What was left over was given to us in a lovely cake box to take home with us which, I have to admit, I finished off by myself later that night.

I think this is my third time to go for Afternoon Tea at Whites of Wexford and it certainly won't be last. It really is the staff that make the hotel what it is and make for a great experience while there.

Afternoon Tea for Two is €18.95 or €25.00 with a glass of presco.

Review: Glamming It Up With PowderPocket

First up, apologies that I didn't bring you January's review. Time just flew away from me, but I will say that I was so impressed I continued my subscription and have no intentions to cancel anytime soon.

For those who have followed my blog for a long time you will know I used to be subscribed to Glossybox and cancelled with them back in December. The reason for this was because I found my money was going to waste on the same products and poor delivery time, so as a result the excitement went pretty quick. I love getting a surprise box and trying out new products so when I heard of PowderPocket and that they were Irish I knew that I was in for a real treat.

This months box was all about glamour and with it being Oscar season it was very apt! Delivery has been really swift on both occasions arriving by courier and me opening the door to the delivery man with sheer excitement.

The box itself is black and on both occasions the PowderPocket logo has been different colours (I love little details like that). The products this month were wrapped in glam gold paper just for added glitz.

Now onto the products..........

Herra Protect Hair Perfume:

This is a finishing product for your hair to make it smell fabulous but also to protect against daily pollution and UV rays. It locks in moisture without making your hair feel weighed down.  A full size at €29.50 is a little expensive and as my sample was a little fiddly I got nothing out of it. That is no fault of PowderPocket it was all me opening it and spraying it by accident in the wrong direction. Full size €29.50

Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Eye Mask:

This got me all excited when I saw it as I have heard great things about it recently. I have yet to try this as I want to have a pamper night and use it then. It is a 15 minute express eye wrinkle mask to instantly reduce the appearance of visible lines and wrinkles. It contains pure retinal micro-infusion technology to treat your skin quickly and soothe away dryness and wrinkles. It is recommended to use 2 per week but at €63.00 for a pack of 12 I'm not sure I would want to part with my cash.

Jessica Brilliance Top Coat:

This is just what I needed! I have used this twice already and love the high gloss finish it gives and it really is super fast at drying. I definitely would repurchase and would love to try other colours in the range. I also really liked the brush which made for a really great and quick application. Full size €13.95.

The Body Shop Shea Shower Cream:

You can never go wrong with products from The Body Shop so I was super delighted to see this shower cream and it's one I haven't tried before so even better. I can't get enough of this and will be repurchasing this soon. It is leaving my skin really soft and moisturised and it smells gorgeous. Full size is €8.95 (250mls)

Manicure 4 Step File & Shine

I go through nail files like there is no tomorrow, I really like to take care of my nails and keep them in tip top condition. When I first took this out I was skeptical thinking it was a bit flimsy but I was very wrong. It files my nails beautifully and with ease and takes away ridges really well. The high shine buffer is what surprised me most because it left my nails looking so shiny as if I had a glossy top coat on them! Definitely another one to repurchase from this box and to have in your handbag. Also at €2.50 it is super reasonable.

Overall Verdict:
PowderPocket have outdone themselves again this month and are doing an awesome job with the mix of products and presentation. The informative magazine full of information on your products also has interviews and tips & tricks from experts something I do read and like having. I fell like each box has been well worth the money so far and can't wait for next month!

They have a monthly rolling plan which is €15.00 including p+p
6 month plan €78.00 including p+p
12 month plan €156.00 including p+p

Stationery & Blog Organisation

I have a bit of an obsession when it comes to Stationery it goes way back as far as I can remember. I started my blog 9 months ago and went through way too many pens, notebooks, and folders, it all went out (major clutter happening) but then 2014 happened and I needed some organisation back in my life, so I went out and bought new stationery (well done me).

I like to keep track of everything!

  • Blog Ideas/Brain Storming Sessions (small notebook for handbag)
  • Blog posts/ Reviews (Executive Notebook)
  • Contacts, Events & Schedule for posts (Diary also for handbag, not pictured)
  • Emails, Letter & Cards (folder)
  • Anything LilliWhiteRose related (pink folder)
I know that every single one of those can be done from my computer but I like to see it all in my own handwriting. I have always done this even back in school/work/home and now for my blog. When I put pen to paper I find my ideas come quicker and that I get a better flow. The computer can sometimes drive me crazy and just like to go back to the old tried and tested way of doing things.

So tell me how do you keep organised for your blog, do you use apps, websites, folders? Tell me all about it as I can be nosy at times :-) x

The Blogger Tag

I was recently tagged by Karen of Beauty Baggage Blog who created her own tag for us all to take part in. I love tags so of course I couldn't say no. These are really helpful to get to know more about the person behind the blog.

Only a few rules:
1. Answer all the questions below.
2. Tag fellow bloggers in post.
3. Link back to blogger who tagged you.
4. When you post a response and you are advertising it please use the hash-tag BloggerTag.

1. When did yo start blogging?
The 20th of May 2013 at 5am in the morning! I can't believe how close it is getting to it's first Birthday.

2. What encouraged you to start?
Firstly my hubby as he was already blogging, and I was itching to do something to keep my mind in working order so he kept asking me for about a year to set up my own. I finally caved and created LilliWhiteRose.

3. What was the first blog you ever actively followed?
I used to read quiet a few before I started but I can actually remember the very first one I came across and then knew it would be the first one I would follow on the different social media sites and that was Girlfriday! Girlfridays Beauty Blog is an amazing lady and I also had the pleasure to meet her on a few occasions now and has been of a great support to me.

4. What type of things do you blog about?
Everything from beauty, lifestyle, and parenting! I love writing reviews so much that I wish I had more time for writing.

5. What has been your biggest revelation since beginning blogging?
The community of Irish Bloggers has been the biggest revelation, I had no idea there was an actual community of bloggers in any shape or form and to discover it was a shock (in the best possible way). There is a great respect for one another and are all very supportive.

6. What do you find toughest about blogging?
Time, between juggling family life and my health, i find it hard to get in the zone for writing sometimes. Scheduling just does not work for me but lately I have found my groove again so hoping I can keep it up.

7. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
This sounds a bit cringey but it's like my little space away from everything. Blogging makes me relax and makes me feel pro-active. I love chatting with other bloggers and getting to know them. They are my favourite things about blogging and can't see that changing ever!

8. What are your blogging ambitions for 2014?
I would love to do a blog challenge this year and host it myself, but really need to pluck up the confidence for it.

9. Recommend five blogs for anyone reading to follow....
I'm going to pick the five blogs I have read since I discovered blogs exsisted and they are all amazing in their own ways.

10. Who do you tag?
I tag every single one of you! Just remember to use the hash-tag when sharing on twitter.

Play-Doh With Lillibug

I was recently in Tesco with Lillibug and I went looking over at the arts and crafts section to see about getting creative with my two year old. We came across Márla (for those not of our native tongue Gaeilge Márla is Irish for modelling clay and pronounce Maw-la) and knew there would be fun to be had.

I initially bought one tub for €1.99 just to see how Lillibug would get on. She absolutely loved it and most importantly didn't try to eat it. So back to Tesco we went and we got a tray of 10 tubs so our imaginations could go further.

Lillibug get's her tea set so we can make snacks and food out of the Márla (have to say our fried eggs looked good enough to eat). We are trying to get the hang of making animals at the moment which has been a blob of a disaster at times but we are having so much fun. We use a rolling pin to flatten out the Márla and use different size cups to make shapes.

Most importantly the Márla has been great for Lillibug's attention span and she is getting hours of fun out of it. She has also started to say new words because of what we are making and she is starting to say the colours of it so it has also been great for her speech and language development. She has also got enjoyment out of stacking the tubs up on one another and making sure they don't fall over. I'm also getting great fun playing with Lillibug and getting creative with our imaginations. To see her stretching it, rolling, and making shapes is a joy to behold.

What do you do with your toddlers to be creative? Don't forget to let me know in the comments below.

The Play-Doh Case of Colours was €6.06 from Tesco and I have to say it was the best money I have spent because of the amount of fun we are having with it.

February Instagram

As always February came and went in a flash and I was a busy bee on Instagram. I was all about the chocolate last month especially as it was Valentines and I got loads. We got Márla (playdough) for Lillibug and she absolutely loves it and we are having great fun with our creations. Lillibug has also gotten into having her pic taken but only if she is wearing dresses.

I experimented with my nails and loved them so much that I kept the glittery tips for when I was bridesmaid. I also loved my hair for the wedding day and my dress was just out of this world that I didn't want to take it off. I also revealed myself with a selfie on Instagram so now you all know what I look like (I was so nervous to do that).

I reached 201 followers on Bloglovin' which made me do a great big jump for joy in the sittingroom and hit my knee of the corner of the couch in the process. Thanks for all your support.

Hope you like all the pictures and if you are also on Instagram leave me your link in the comments and I can follow. xx

February Favourites

WOW! I can't believe it's March already, time is just flying by way too quickly. February was a great month full of wedding excitement as one of my best friends got married and she gave me the honour of being one of her bridesmaids. Congratulations to the newlyweds an can't wait till you get back from honeymoon.

So February was all about looking after my skin and keeping it in tip top condition, so products I had once loved but have been neglected have made a reappearance in my routine.

1. Soap & Glory The Scrub of Your Life:
I forgot how much I loved this scrub, my skin always feels so polished and amazing after it. Some scrubs can feel really drying on my skin but this leaves it feeling hydrated.

2. Soap & Glory Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion:
I love this lotion in the colder months when my skin feels zapped and it really is a great moisturiser, the only thing is I don't like the pump action packaging. The lotion is too thick and can be hard to pump out. The product itself works fantastically though and I love it. It can take awhile to soak into the skin so it's nice to do this beside the fire.

3. Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan:
I know this has appeared in my previous favourites, but it has been awhile since I used it, and no bridesmaid is complete without it! I only left it on for an hour just to give me a really nice natural subtle glow so my skin looked healthy and brighter. You can check out my full review here.

4. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5:
This is an amazing product, I will never be without it now! I had a reaction back in January to a new cleanser I was trying out and it destroyed my skin especially on my cheek and jaw line. So after a chat with Eileen (everyone remember Eileen's Guest post? check it out here), she recommended the Citaplast Baume. Within a week there was such an improvement and by the tenth day my skin was completely back to it's old self.

5. L'Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream:
My skin is always on the dry side so I needed something really hydrating and get my skin in tip top condition. I got this in a Glossybox last year and I was delighted as I had used another sample I had and loved it. It leaves my skin hydrated and full of life again. The fragrance of this is gorgeous but it does disappears after about twenty minutes and your skin will look radiant after using it.

6. Bridesmaid Duty!!!

I couldn't finish this off without putting my favourite day in from February, it was just a great day and as I said above it was an absolute honour to be a bridesmaid. I love you Mary-Mary :-)

So that's it for February Favourites, let me know what you think in the comments?
