Netflix Stream Team: Get Fit with Netflix

January Challenge:

So the first Netflix Stream Team challenge arrived in my email a short time ago, and I've been working on it for the last few weeks, so here it goes.

With the New Year comes great intentions of getting fit. The challenge Netflix have set was to try and improve your physical fitness while using shows on Netflix as a timer of sorts. Exercises have been tailored to shows that range from 20-25 minutes, up to an hour.

This was going to be especially challenging for me. Exercise isn't really my friend. Don't get me wrong, I can charge up and down the town while pushing Lillibug in her stroller but for health reasons, traditional exercise can sometimes do more harm than good.

For this reason, I chose to tailor this challenge to suit my own lifestyle. I'd been finding that Lillibug and I had been waking up around the same time in the morning, but the big difference was that while I took a few minutes to come around, she was rearing to go straight away and was sometimes hard to keep up with. So what I decided to do was to set my alarm approximately thirty minutes before our usual wake up time. Due to my aforementioned health reasons, I decided to stick with the basic warm up exercises, and the recommended time for beginners which was 20-25 minutes. I also decided that there was no point in having a show on in the background which required a lot of effort to follow so I decided to go with "Modern Family".

While it was a bit of a shock to the system for the first few mornings, once it became a part of my daily routine I started feeling great. I noticed that it set me up for the day ahead, and I was ready and alert for when Lillibug woke up and was ready to "go, go, go" (as she likes to put it).

All the exercises are available on youtube and the links can be found here:

After the initial laugh of some of the exercise names I did start to enjoy them and feel better for it. The only exercise I do at night is put the cup of tea to my mouth when watching some of my favourite shows!

*Disclaimer: I have recently become a member of the Netflix Stream Team and for this I received a complimentary subscription for one year & an Apple TV (Box). All opinions are my own, and I will be posting once a month in relation to Netflix Stream Team. Stay tuned........

What's In My Handbag?

I have seen loads of bloggers doing this and everyone loves a good nose so thought I would show you mine. I know lots of woman do not like anyone near the bag, where as I would just say to my closest friends or hubby "sure it's in my bag you can go get it" .The look of horror I get! I don't have any secrets in my handbag I keep them elsewhere.......

My bag was a Christmas present from my best friend who obviously knows me very well to get me a handbag that I would love and fit everything into. It is a David Jones brown leather trim with suede brown exterior and silver hardware. I just love it!

Inside you will find:

My fave L.Y.D.C London mint green wallet from my Dad two Christmases ago and still in great condition even with a two year old playing with it on a constant basis.

You will also find......

My 2014 Diary, the Fairest of All blog notes diary, and a zip pocket for vouchers, stamps, letters and business cards, and then my selection of pens. The Angel bookmark shouldn't be in my bag but Lillibug found it and was waving it around and I had the vapours thinking she will poke herself the eye so I put it in my bag.

The essentials:

My new phone which is Huawei Y300, my strawberry shopping bag, headphones for my phone and a Minnie Mouse Tag that I didn't want to throw away. Spare glasses because I'm as blind as a bat!

How on earth did I even fit my makeup bag in there I will never know! The makeup bag was a Christmas pressie from a blog friend as well as the EOS lip balm both of which I love and are in constant use :-) It is the perfect size to put my daily makeup into it and it goes everywhere with me. Some essentials that were in the bag loose are my Tangle Teaser, Lillibug's comb, Nivea Lip Butter which is now going in the bin after Lillibug stuck her sticky fingers into it. Deodorant, hair bobble, and finally Colour Boost lip crayon which I bought after seeing a review over on Nurse Fancy Pants and it was my go to lip colour for Autumn/Winter.

So that's it for "What's in my bag" if you got to the end without getting bored maybe you could leave a comment and let me know if you would like to see what is in my makeup bag!

Liebster Award

I was recently nominated for the Liebster award by Danielle from so thank you Danielle. I haven't been nominated for one of these in a long time and find them to be great fun and the questions are great.

The Rules:

  • Link the blog that nominated you for the award.
  • Choose 11 bloggers to nominate.
  • Answer 11 questions you have been given.
  • Let the people know you have nominated them.
  • Sadly you can't nominate the person who nominated you.
  • Create 11 questions for the people you nominate.
1. What made you start blogging?
Lack of sleep, not working, love of reading other blogs, and hubby kept hounding me to start my own.

2. What's you favourite TV show/Movie?
Oh I have so many, where do I start?! Okay I love Grey's Anatomy, Nashville, and the Good Wife.

3. What's your favourite online website to shop?
I have bought a few times from Cloud 10 Beauty and find myself trawling their website and putting things on my wishlist and they have the best delivery by far. So they have become my favourite the last few months.

4. If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
Cooking! That has to count as a superpower surely? I hate cooking and I am not very creative in the kitchen and really think anyone that is good in the kitchen is a superhero.

5. Do you have a favourite food? If so what is it?
I love Roast Beef, and if I could have it for dinner everyday of the week I would.

6. What's one place you would like to visit?
I am going to pick a place I have never been to before, and that is New York. I never really had it in my head to go until about 2 years ago, but now I would love to and it would have to be a December visit with loads of Christmas shopping included.

7. How long does your everyday makeup routine take?
I have this down to a fine art of five minutes. That includes foundation, blushers, concealer, primer, mascara, eyeshadow, and powder and not all in that order.

8. What do you love most about blogging?
The community spirit, and immense support is my biggest love of blogging.

9. What beauty product could you not live without?
Mascara, without a doubt it would even be my desert island must have.

10. What's your favourite makeup brand?
URBAN DECAY have never let me down especially when it comes to their eyeshadows. I can never walk past their counter without stopping.

11. How many lipsticks do you own?
Two! I'll bet you didn't expect that answer. I have never been into lipsticks, I can never get a colour to suit, and I have a tendency to lick my lips a lot. The two that I have though are my favourite. One is a mauve colour that reminds me of the lipstick belonged to my Grandma when I was a kid and she used to let me "pretend" to put it on. The second was a gift from another blogger (Thank you and you know who you are. Your'e the best) and it's a Wet n' Wild lipstick that I absolutely love.

So my questions to you are:
1. How long have you been blogging, and why did you start?
2. What is your blog all about?
3. Which Irish Brand do you love?
4. Where would you like to travel to next?
5. Who is your favourite Disney Character?
6. Which season is your favourite?
7. Tell me your favourite skincare product?
8. How do you keep you blog organised?
9. What is your favourite makeup brand?
10. How much do you think you spend a month on makeup?
11. Finally if you won the lotto what would be the fist thing you would buy?

I Nominate:
Anyone who would like to do it! Just let me know in the comments below and then I will link your blog here.

Lisa Heeney All Natural Lotion Bar.

I got the opportunity to test out this little beauty which is an All Natural Lotion Bar made lovingly by Lisa Heeney. I loved it so much that I just have to tell you all about it. I have already mentioned it on a few occasions both on Twitter and with pics on Instagram (I just love Instagram now that I have signed up) raving about it.

Lisa Heeney All Natural Lotion Bar
The Packaging:
This has the greatest bonus of coming in an aluminium tin (100% recyclable) which keeps your bar fresh and fully sealed. It opens to reveal a beautiful lotion bar in the shape of a flower. When you get this it is also packaged in a cardboard box.

The Product:
Packed full of all natural goodness this moisturises your skin right down to the deepest layer. It contains essential oils including Frankincense which is great for dry or ageing skin, Roman Chamomile which is brilliant for calming your skin and help with stress, and Lavender for it's uplifting refreshing smell to relieve stress and is also great for aches and pains. Other ingredients include beeswax which is locally sourced from Co. Louth, coconut oil and cocoa butter.
To use your bar you rub between your hands until it melts a little then glide over your skin.

Overall Verdict:
I use this every night if not every second night after shower/bath which is my time to unwind and I am delighted with the results. My skin is looking hydrated and feels absolutely amazing. The essential oils have been very beneficial to me and really have worked. Cost wise... definitely worth it. The bar is 65g and lasting well, and it already comes with the a tin so no need to purchase separately at additional cost.

Follow Lisa Heeney on Twitter and check out her website to get your hands on this wonderful Lotion Bar.

The Mother Tag

I originally saw this tag over on the great blog that is Dolly Dowsie and just knew I had to do this one as well. So here are the answers I have to the questions hope you enjoy.

1. Are you a stay at home mother or a working mother?
For now I am a stay at home mammy.

2. Would you have it any other way?
I was originally meant to go back to work after maternity leave but financially it worked out better for me to stay at home. Staying at home has been more rewarding than any job and definitely harder work. I wouldn't change staying at home with my little girl for anything now. Someday I know I will go back to work but when the time is right.

3. Do you Co-sleep?
No! I was so nervous about cot death or rolling over and smothering Lillibug that I couldn't do it. In the first six months I used to have awful nightmares about those thing that I would wake up in an awful panic.

4. What is your one must have item for baby?
Definitely a steriliser, I couldn't breastfeed so it was bottles all the way that need to be sterilised of any nasty bugs.

5. How many kids do you plan on having?
We are completely happy with just having one but maybe further down the line we might be blessed with another.

6. Date Night? How many nights per month?
We very rarely go out, but we do make an effort to relax on Friday or Saturday nights with a good movie (so does that count?).

7. Your child's favourite show?
Lillibug doesn't get much telly time but when she does she goes nuts for Tinkerbell or Sofia the First which is great because I love them too. Looks like Lillibug is going to take after me with my Disney obsession!

8. Name one thing you bought before you had your baby and never ended up using?
I only bought what I needed for the hospital bag and had deposit down on pram and Moses basket. I was very old fashioned that way not wanting to buy anything until our baby arrived.

9. Your child's favourite food?
Grapes and more grapes, she will eat them till they come out her ears.

10. How many cars does your family have?
One and that is all we need. Hubby can walk to work as it's not far and then myself and Lillibug can have the car for our jaunts out.

11. Weight gain before pregnancy, during, after, and now?
Um not sure I like this question.... Before pregnancy I was just at the right weight, during I ballooned so much everyone thought I was carrying twins, after it took nine months to get back to my orginal weight. Now my I struggle with weight because I have an under-active thyroid.

12. Dream Holiday with your kids?
The obvious would be Disneyland, but I would love to go to Lapland for Lillibug's birthday (when she is older and her birthday is 30th of November). I absolutely love November & December they are my favourite months of the year and full of magic, so seeing Santa and his reindeer's would be awesome in the snow.

13. Dream Holiday without the kids?
I would love to go to Paris with hubby for a long weekend. We have both been there but never together and it is my favourite city.

14. How has your life changed since baby was born?
It has changed dramatically for me but all in the best possible way and can't imagine my life any different now.

15. Finish the sentence: "It makes my heart melt to see...."
Lillibug dance and sing with her teddies who she goes everywhere with.

16. Where do you shop for your kids?
Debenhams, Dunnes, Marks & Spencers, Next.

17. Favourite makeup and skincare products?
Without a doubt I love URBAN DECAY eye-shadows the quality is just outstanding and can never walk past the counter without eyeing something up.
I also wouldn't be without my Cleanse off Mitt or The Body Shop Cleansing Butter to keep my skincare in tip top condition.

18. Huggies or Pampers?
Neither, seriously in this day in age I will not spend the money on them when Lidl do their own brand for a fraction of the price and more importantly are just as good. I have written about their nappies before and you can read that here.

19. Have you always wanted kids?
Yes always.

20. Best part about being a mum?
The love!

Hope I didn't bore you and if you liked it and do the tag yourself let me know would love to see your answers. x

January: My Monthly Story from Instagram

Hubby got me to join Instagram in January thinking it would be right up my street due to the fact I absolutely love taking photos. He was right I love seeing what everyone is up to and snapping away myself of completely random things and then putting them up for all to see. You can follow me on Instagram by clicking the logo on the right or click here.

1. My little Lillibug helping me with the shopping in our local supermarket. She loves to be the big girl and she especially loves doing the grocery shop.

2. Cocoa Brown Travel Size 1 Hour Tan arrived in it's pretty pink envelope which always makes me giddy. This will always be my favourite tan and now that it comes in Travel size even better.

3. My first PowderPocket Box arrived in January (review coming soon) and I have to say I was definitely really happy with it but more to come soon on that one.

4. Lillibug leaves things everywhere and hides things everywhere and when I was half asleep with my head somewhere else I ended up walking on her building brick. She thought it was the funniest thing ever seeing me hop around on one foot mumbling some unrepeatable thing under my breath. So no sympathy there for me.

5. New pajamas from my Mum (she is the best) in my fave colour and with a cuff on the leg, which is great for my short legs so I don't end up tripping around the place!

6. I did a big clean out of makeup and skincare and rearranged everything. I'm still not happy with things but my birthday is coming up in a few months and Hubby is sorting out my storage problem then :-)

7. L'Oreal #TXT Volumising Spray. I hope to review this soon so not going to say too much except that it took me a month to get my hands on it because it's sold out everywhere!

8. Burn! I got my bloods done for my thyroid and as the day was wearing on I was getting a burning sensation. I would have taken the plaster of myself but I just can't be that cruel so waited till someone else could and lo and behold a nice burn mark from the plaster was there.

9. Photobox prints arrived in January. All 248! I have been having great fun getting some albums done and I need to get another 500 printed next payday. Would highly recommend Photobox for prints and photo gifts they have never let me down, and it's so much easier doing everything from my laptop.

10. Sweet Popcorn is just the best treat ever. I remember as a child we used to get this in the cinemas but not anymore so when I saw this I grabbed it knowing that myself and one of my best friends would demolish it that night.

11. Minnie Mouse Tissues. I just can't walk past anything that is Disney related.

12. I was sick in January with a tummy bug and to say thank you to Lillibug for looking after Mammy I got her favourite Princess on dvd. For 4 days Lillibug did not once complain that she didn't get to see her friends on the Tuesday, or get to go to the park to play.

13. Lisa Heeney All Natural Lotion Bar. I have been loving this so watch out for my review coming next week.

14. Family night in with take away and wrestling. Such a great weekend. Loved every minute of it.

15. Pic of Lillibug on her 2nd birthday at Dublin Zoo back in November.

Let me know what you think of my Monthly Instagram Post would you like to see a February one but more compact? Comment below it will make my day x

Empties With Mini Reviews

I checked my little box of empties last night and I was surprised that I don't have more in it than I do. I haven't done an empties post since September so I think it is about time that I done one. I think I will try and do these every 2-3 months, I like going back on what I used and seeing what I liked and what I would buy again. So without further a do here we go.....

1 & 2. Hask Argan Oil & Hask Keratin Protein Shampoos:
I absolutely love the Hask range of shampoos and at €4.50 they are really reasonable and leave my hair in great condition. I will buy these again but I am itching to try a new shampoo that will WOW me.

3. Johnson's Be Fresh & Imagine Shower Gel:
This was a great little bargain at €2.00 but I just used it up for the sake of using it up. The smell was nice with it's white peace and tea rose but the fragrance didn't stay with me and the shower gel done nothing for my skin. So I won't be purchasing this one again.

4.Benefit Foamingly Clean Wash:
I really like Benefit's skin care range and really love this foam facial wash. It leaves my skin feeling so smooth, soft and super clean. It costs €25.00 and this is one I buy as a treat every 6 months.

5. L'Occitane Passionate Jasmine Hand Cream:
Correct me if I am wrong but I think these travel size hand creams are €10.50 and this was a pressie from my mum. I suffer really bad with cracked and cut hands but this winter has been the first since I was a young teenager that I haven't and I am putting it down to using L'Occitane Hand Creams. I had this travel size one for my hand bag which was really handy but I also have a full size one in the house at all times. These are my holy grails of hand creams.

6. Catrice Glamour Doll Volume Waterproof Mascara:
I love Catrice Mascara they are so affordable just coming in under €5.00. This was really nice and loved the tapered brush and it gave me long separated lashes that were natural looking. It did give volume and no flaking which is a bonus.

7. Catrice All Around Waterproof Mascara (Volume & Curl):
I prefer the Glamour Doll Volume but this was just as good. It has a rounder brush that has a slight taper at the end. It gives volume but no length and it does give curl. This also comes in under €5.00 too.

8. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer:
I have to say I am not a huge fan of this, I found it really thick and drying on my skin. I got the colour fair and it was still too dark for my pasty skin. So I am back on the hunt for a new concealer. This cost €6.49 but it just didn't work for me at all.

Max Factor Miracle Touch  Liquid Illusion Foundation:
I have been getting this foundation for years now I really love the finish it gives me. It goes from a solid to liquid finish that gives me a fresh natural look. I remember when I first got this when it hit the shelves way back and I thought it was so handy for just throwing in my bag and it has a sponge in the lid. I think it is a bit pricey at €19.99 for what it is but I tend to go back for it even after all these years just because I really like the finish.

Max Factor Whipped Creme Foundation:
I'm still on the fence with this one, it does remind me of the Miracle Touch (above) and gives a demi-matte finish. I think I may have picked up a colour too dark for me so going to pick up a lighter shade next time and give it another try. It is cheaper than the one above as this one comes in at €12.99

Guinot Samples of Creme Hydra Beaute Moisturiser :
After I got a Guniot Hydradermie 2 Facial I was given two samples of this moisturiser. This moisturiser is absolutely fabulous and I love it. It is on the pricey side at €49.55 but my skin was left in great condition. My laughter lines were smoother, skin looked radiant and hydrated.

Vichy Idealia Life Serum:
I got a few of these samples in December's Glossybox and I loved it! It is on my wishlist now for my birthday in April. It's €38.50 but I think it would be worth getting the full size because I was so amazed by the results. My skin looked glowy, redness was reduced, pores shrunk and it gave a great canvas for my foundation.

Have you tried any of these? Did you like them or not rate them at all?? Let me know in the comments below.
